The Overflow Estate 1895 is a winery near Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
Historically, it was a grazing property, located about 60 kilometres south of Brisbane as the crow flies, 17 kilometres west of Beaudesert and about 20 kilometres east of Boonah. It spans the Beaudesert-Boonah highway and fronts the Lake Wyaralong Dam. The newly constructed dam, completed in 2010, forms the northern boundary.
The Overflow 1895 boasts approximately 12 kilometres of waterfront land. It covers a little over 4000 acres and supports 500 head of cattle, a sand mine for the construction industry, a sandstone quarry and of course, the winery. We refer to the winery as The Overflow Estate 1895.
The magnificent original homestead was built by hand in 1899-1900. The upper level was added in 1918 after the arrival of one son and eight daughters.
The Overflow showcases unsurpassed rural beauty in Queensland’s Scenic Rim with a new world winery and a handcrafted homestead built in 1899, set on the calming shores of Lake Wyaralong. Some 1200 acres have been placed under eucalypt forest cultivation with several walks and coves to explore, or just to sit, watch, listen and breathe.
